Garden 2006 retrospective, part one: The morning glory

This past summer was the second one at our Providence apartment, and our first full growing season here. We're fortunate to have a little space to grow things here, and I had fun experimenting in the garden. Here is the first in a series of photos and notes from the warmer days of this past summer.

July 14th. After about a month, the plants have definitely figured out the whole climbing thing.

September 8th. What started out as a few little vines has grown into a huge monster. There is a small hole in the screen for the nearby window, and the morning glory vines have found their way inside the apartment. (See "Morning glories in the office" photo.)

August 27th. I also planted a couple morning glories out front, and trained them to grow on our front porch. I like the way they turned out, and plan to do this again next year on a grander scale.

September 21st. The morning glory plant has found it's way through a hole in the screen into our apartment. Really quite nice to have fresh flowers inside. =)

September 3rd. It has just rained, and the flowers on the front porch are still covered with little drops of water.
