Christmas Photos
Up one levelMel and I are at the family farm in Maine for Christmas, where it's warm and sunny. Here are some photos from the past couple days.
Bessie the Christmas pirate
Elizabeth Rose puts on a fine sneer to match her new hat and temporary tatoo.
Melanie, pretty in paisley
Melanie models her snazzy new paisley apron from Phoosh. (The Phoosh made me a matching snazzy blue paisley apron.)
Buddy and Emma play fetch on the green lawn
This photo illustrates just how not-white this Christmas was. I'm not complaining — it was a beautiful day!
Bessie and her fort
After a morning of sitting around opening presents and eating bonbons, we all took a much-needed walk outside. I finally got to see Bessie's fort, of which I have heard many stories.
Bessie's fort, up close
This fort has two entrances; the front porch entrance via this tree, or the back door via a ladder.
Inside Bessie's fort
Back when I was a kid, my fort didn't have a vice *or* a kitchen sink, let alone a complete set of dishes and silverware. Not that I'm jealous. This fort is just awesome.
Bessie looks down from upstairs
Yes, this fort has a second story. It's practically a guest house. I'm totally camping here on my next visit, if it's not reserved by someone else.
Gingerbread cookies!
We made a large batch of gingerbread cookies, using our various new cookie cutters. Lobsters and moose and bears, oh my!

Salad!
This salad was too beautiful to not photograph. Nice work, Mom. (Yes, it tasted as good as it looked.)
